About SOCA
SOCA's Mission
SOCA seeks to celebrate and promote the arts at Stanford by creating artistic opportunities that are cooperative and inclusive, not competitive or exclusive. The group hopes to instill an appreciation across campus for the breadth and depth of artistic endeavors among students, faculty and staff, and to encourage all community members to pursue an interest in the arts.
SOCA's History
Since its inception in 1999, SOCA has evolved from a freshman's vision into a dynamic organization that creates world-class opportunities for Stanford artists. The SOCA team is fervently committed to a high standard for its productions. Endeavors such as An Art Affair, The Stanford Soundtrack, The Mural Project, and the MoonTunes concert series are envisioned and created with this goal in mind: to enhance the Stanford experience with open venues for artistic expression. SOCA recently won the ASSU VSO of the Year Award (05-06), and the Dean of Students Outstanding Achievement Award (06-07).
