Other SOCA Projects

SOCA envisions a vibrant future for the arts at Stanford. With the success of its previous initiatives, SOCA members are excited about piloting new ideas for the upcoming years. Some of the ideas that we are currently working on include:

• A New Performance Art Series: outreach to various dance and performance groups and efforts to purchase a portable outdoor stage
• A Collaborative Anthology of Words: recruiting the help and expertise of student literary magazines to design and publish it
• Classical Music in the CoHo: a supplementary student concert series showcasing classical musicians
  

Some past projects include:

• SOCA in the City: tickets lottery to arts events in the city -- now has become a University sponsored program called "Off The Farm"
• SOCA to GO: bringing the arts into residences for house meeting activities and performances in freshmen dorms
  

If you have some other ideas on how SOCA can help embrace the arts at Stanford, please let us know. Along with new initiatives, we hope that SOCA creations such as An Art Affair, the Stanford Soundtrack, the Mural Project, SOCA On Display, and the music series will continue to enhance student life at Stanford for years to come.
