The Stanford Soundtrack CD
The Stanford Soundtrack is a compilation album of current Stanford bands and songwriters. Over 3,000 copies are produced, released and distributed at SOCA's hallmark event, An Art Affair festival. During the festival, catch the CD release party where the bands on the album perform live for the campus community.
The Soundtrack is a collaborative venture between SOCA and SCN (Stanford Concert Network) aimed at introducing the student body to the vast array of original music that is composed, performed, and produced by Stanford students. Such music is typically created by songwriters and bands that have few potent resources with which to share their work, often spending more time trying to market music instead of actually writing songs.
The Soundtrack provides an outlet for musicians to share their creations with the Stanford community in a widely-distributed medium. The vision of the Soundtrack team is to create a production that represents the diverse musical community that is embodied by Stanford's campus. We strongly encourage artists of all different types of musical backgrounds and training to apply.
