Student Organizing Committee for the Arts: SOCA Music Series

In 2005, SOCA in collaboration with the Stanford Concert Network kicked off a new music series initiative called SOCA Unplugged. With the aim to enrich the campus music scene and create opportunities for student performers to share their talents, SOCA Unplugged presented weekly concerts to the student body in familiar campus venues. Shows were held either in the Stanford Coffee House or at the outdoor acoustic venue of the Moonbean's Cafe. It was soon evident by the number of artists lined up to perform and the ecstatic response of students in the audience that SOCA Unplugged was a smash hit. SOCA Unplugged transformed into "MoonTunes" in 2006 and continues this Spring. The coffee house series has since been taken over by the Stanford Concert Network and moved to the Axe and Palm Cafe in Old Union.
